6,484 Posts. #2 · Apr 18, 2019. Only show this user. I've run the Ron and Ralph in the older compounds on the rear. Both in 2.25. I really couldn't tell much of a difference in rolling resistance. They both rolled pretty fast. The Ralph does seem to have more volume. The Ron felt like it braked a bit better.

For a while this Spring I ran IKON 2.35 3C EXO TR front and rear. Felt great on my rigid, just not enough braking grip. I'm now running Specialized Purgatory Control 2.3 front and rear. Overall, slightly slower rolling than the Maxxis A/I combo, better braking, better in the wet, feels more confident leaned over and great traction on slick rock.

I'm currently running Continental X King's front and rear, in 2.4 width, Black Chilli compound with Protection sidewall on my 5010CC. Although I love their low rolling resistance, I can't say I love their cornering grip. When I'm pushing the …

I run the Maxxis Ikon 2.35 on rear and Ardent 2.4 in front. I have the snakeskin sidewalls and I like these tires for racing up north where its rocky. They grip very well. I hear great things about racing ralphs other than they wear fast.
