All year RD250‘s and 350's in the US had Dykes ring pistons (not good for racing). An RD400 left side cover will fit an LC perfectly, you just have to make some room for the electronic ignition trigger for the LC. The LC and RZ bottom ends are very similar.

It wouldn't hurt to give them a bit of oil and check the carb slide balance. Paul is correct when he says 'spray WD40' around the intake manifold to see if there is any difference in tickover.
