Notice the lever reaching out to lock into one of the 2-speed pins located inside of the 2nd gear. The preload set by the 2-speed adjustment screw determines the speed in which the 2-speed hub has to rotate to release the lever. Lighter settings will allow the lever to engage sooner, and tighter setting will hold it back for later shift points.

This adjustment allows you to change the ride height of the Revo without changing the damping force or the progressive rate of the suspension.
