He has continued to pursue racing. In 1998, Ron piloted his current car -- a AA/Supercharged 1963 Corvette -- to a Goodguys Nostalgia record of 6.70 seconds at 208.97 mph. Ron won top honors that year in the Goodguy's Nostalgia for the Lowest ET and Top Speed. In 1998, the Corvette was the test car for the 671 Kobelco Supercharger.

Nunes had a lot of wheels to the sky passes in the mid-1960's. Ron would park the Willy's and race an Austin and Corvette in the AA/GS class. Big John Mazmanian was on tour at Half Moon Bay, California in 1965. I can't imagine towing this candy red coupe on an open trailer, but they did it.
