Electrolytic caps when charge it keep voltage in them in definitely, until they are discharge. Most ESC manufacture uses Caps on their products and voids their warranties if not used. The only capacitors i know of in RC cars are the ones found on the ESC and the ones used as "Turbo" or "NOS" that you assign to a switch on your controller flip it and they give you a temporary boost.
