They said the race “faded into history”. Well the race ran under the Nissan 400 banner until 1992 since they had been the title sponsor of the event from 1985 and the Mint Hotel was sold in 1988 to Binion’s. (Binion’s didn’t care about the race, they were gambler’s, i.e. the Binion’s World Series of Poker.)
