    They were going to be joining Captain Malcolm Campbell, Ray Keech and Frank Lockhart in February, 1928, at Daytona Beach. On the 19th Campbell set a new World speed record at 206 mph, Keech was too slow and Lockhart had his first crash. Meanwhile Shaw ran his car and it caught fire so he drove it into the ocean to put it out.
