The SRT8 (and many other cars) have adaptive transmission shift programming. Highway driving and stop and go, slow city driving will put the adaptation into “granny” mode – not good for drag racing. The Predator will do the reset or you can pull a fuse. The fuse number depends on the model year of your car. It’s fuse 11 on 2007 and older.

I just purchased a 2010 SRT8 with a 426 stroker. The car has 40,000 original miles and is still brand new. No scratches, tears in the seats, anything. The old man who owned it before me had a shop pull the motor at 15,000 miles and build the 6.1 into a 426 stroker as he always wanted a 426 car. They beefed up the 6 speed and the rear diff.
