In Grand Prix racing during 1971, Sweden's Ronnie Peterson drove an all-new March Formula 1 car to second place in the World Championship. The STP Racing Team dominated the 1972 Australian Tasman series with driver Graham McRae. He also won the U.S. Continental Series and ended the Rothman 5000 European Series in third place.
