You can tell from the specs on the Summit head that it is different than the GM vortec head. Instead of 64cc chambers and 170cc intake runners, it has 67cc chambers and 165cc intake runners. I've read that the Summit vortec head is a Dart product. It has the Iron Eagle SS 165 cc intake port with a vortec intake bolt pattern.

I looked at this head , at Summit one day.. its not a true Vortec style head. its a mix-hybrid of vortec bolt pattern on a iron Eagle-- Dart SS 165cc S/R style head. 67cc chamber it is a typical heavy Dart casting thou. Not comparable to a true but nicely improved Vortec head like the RHS "vortec Pro Torker 906"
