18 hours ago · Description. This is a set of used D3 SVO heads. They have 2.200" head 5/16" stem titanium intake valves and 11/32" titanium exhausts. Intake port inlet measures 2.3" tall by 1.85" wide. The stands are for Jesel 1.75 pivot length rockers DCDR and DDDL. One head has been modified to raise the stand height to match the other as shown in pictures.

I think these were the first performance heads offered in the very early SVO catalog about 1982 or so. Because the ports were too large for most non-drag race applications, Ford cast up a B351 head specifically for NASCAR, which no one seemed to like or use, and then the C302 head which was a lot smaller and had more rectangular intake ports.

The Y303 SVO head is the one used on the 320HP crate motor sold by Ford before they started putting the X303 head on them and selling them as 345HP motors. They have the same valves and springs in them as the X head 1.94 intake and 1.54 exhaust valves. The springs will run out of gas at about 5600 RPM's.

It just depends on which "SVO" heads. More than likely they're the old "Y" heads. Those had the SVO logo on them and were pretty popular years ago. The Y heads are decent. They're marginally better than the cast iron GT40's. Being aluminum though makes them better already. Some of them did have guide wear issues though.
