Have a helper with you to set the RPM to 4100. Let it idle for 20 seconds to cool a bit, now keep it in low, hit the trans brake and deck it. It MUST hold 4100 RPM exactly for 2 seconds while it is on the stop. Even if it varies 25 RPM it will mess up predicting properly. It cannot drop down in RPM even for an instant.

A mechanical throttle stop is anything solid/non moving that prevents you from reaching full throttle. Whether it's a screw on the throttle linkage or a bolt under the pedal, they both achieve the same goal. I use one of these to slow my car down to 12.00 to run certain classes. Hope this helps, and keep an open mind towards bracket racing.
