I selected the Thunder Racing TRAK CAM. The specs on the cam are 231/234 .640/.590 112 LSA. I upgraded the pushrods, springs, oil pump, balancer, and timing chain. The drivability of this cam is very good. The lower rpms are very manageable and it pulls like no tomorrow up to 6800 rpm. The dyno numbers are 391.2 RWHP and 375 TQ.

I'm down to two common off the shelf choices: Thunder Racing TR224 - 224/224 .563/.563 114LSA Texas Speed 224R 224/224 .581/.581 114LSA The Texas Speed cam has a higher lift on XER lobes and a slightly lower power band. On the other hand the Thunder Racing cam has lower lift but a sightly higher power band.

Yesterday I had Thunder Racing install a cam in the Z. Dyno tuning was accomplished this morning. Specs are: 227/224 .569/.563 114 LSA. After doing quite a bit of homework on the subject, I decided on this cam over the larger 230/226 type cams for two reasons: 1. With a 114 LSA, it will be smoother at idle and have better low RPM drivability. 2.
