Phil, a couple of years back I did a 'Racing Career of The Hit Man Tony Boden' for an American girl who used to leave in Germany. Apparantly, when Tony raced at Hockenheim he used to stop with them. Tony Boden and Allan Herridge held a best of three match race in their nitro Funny Cars. Boden took the first race in his 'Hit Man' Dodge Omni 7.64/184 to 7.82/181. Bootsie took the 'Gladiator' Trans Am to the second win with a 6.75/195 to Bodens 7.46/191. In the third match up Herridge took a solo win as 'Hit Man' had spun a bearing.

Tony Boden had raced Dennis Priddle’s dragster as the Hit Man before getting a funny car. Boden imported the Len Imbrogno Centurion Omni from Ohio. Tony ran it a few times as the Centurion before repainting the car. The Hit Man ran a best of 6.27, which amazed the British drag racing scene after Tony’s previous efforts.

July 1984 saw Harlan back at the Cannonball in a beautiful new Budweiser-backed Trans Am Funny Car. Harlan reached the final again and this time faced Tony Boden beating him with a 6.49 to Tony's 6.96 and the Cannonball trophy went to the Budweiser car.
