The old TKO I refer to was pre-TKO500 and 600 models and I saw ratings of 525 ft lbs vs. 425 for the 3550. In order of strength, the highest is the 600, then 500, then old TKO, then 3550. The overdrive ratio also effects strength from what I was told. Twin disk is not the same as dual friction. I have new 26 X 10 X 15 MT ET Drag slicks.

I built a 91 mustang about 4 years ago, put in a brand new TKO600 and could never shift it over 5.000 rpm 2nd to 3rd.it just wouldnt go in . took it out ,brought it to a dealer I know, changed the shift lugs to the 3550 style, put it back in took it to the track ,same thing.took it out to the dealer we went to he had it for a mth, put it back in took it to the track same thing.
