    I called the Valvoline company today and was a little shocked at what they told me. I ask the tech expert if I should run there motorcycle oil or there VR1 racing oil in my Heritage and they said that their motorcycle oil was created for the Jap bikes and that the VR1 racing oil which has higher zinc would be great to run and that is what they recommend to run in a Harley.

    The used oil analysis over on BITOG for VR1 are generally very good. However I believe most or all of those are from bikes without a shared sump (Harleys, BMW, etc).     Then Valvoline must make be making a conventional R1 racing 20w-50 oil and a syn blend because 1 just paid approx $2.49 per qt @ autozone for the VR1 racing 20w-50 i bought and and now you find it for $5.00+ per qt and yours is a syn blend.
