All in all, it was a good investment and it does keep the sled right in the heart of the powerband when you are heavy into the throttle. It pulls harder and just runs better with the improved clutching.

The South Bend clutch kit I bought had a made in Japan clutch plate made by Excedy and a heavy duty pressure plate made by Sachs. Sachs made the OEM pressure plate for VW, but the heavy duty one makes the pedal stiffer. If you don't want a heavier pedal, get a stock replacement pressure plate. My wife doesn't like the heavy clutch pedal in my car.
