Meanwhile, at the western end of the state, in Washington, Pennsylvania, legendary harness driver, trainer, breeder, and innovator, Delvin Miller planned his lifelong dream of bringing harness racing to western Pennsylvania. He and several partners began construction in 1962 on The Meadows race track which also opened in June, 1963.
