The ChampCar series offers several different racing disciplines: Endurance Racing - Multi-driver races which span from 7 to 36 hours depending on the event. Each driver may drive for a maximum of 2 hours per stint, at which time the driver must head to the pits for a driver change and any applicable refueling or repair as needed.

Basically an arms race without checks or balances from everything that I've heard. When I went through tech with Sal last year he asked if I had everything as per ChampCar (maybe that was ChumpCar at the time) rules and within 500 points so in the west (I feel like I say that a lot) it has not been an arms race.
