I will speak from personal experince, i had this intercooler on my 05 srt-4, my mods where agp wastegate, full 3' exhaust, spiking 19psi. I had the same mods with a stock FMIC and the XO2 intercooler and to be honest the car felt smoother and stronger with the stock FMIC. For some reason my car never felt the same with the XO2 installed.

The ebay intercoolers are a decent sized core compared to the WRX, Legacy, Forester cores with are tiny. However for the STI guys which already have a decent sized core from the factory I'd think twice about going big top-mount, and would consider a FMIC if your turbo necessitates it. The STI Top-mount and the VF39 are perfectly mated components.
