    it doesn't have B16 cams in it - B16 cams are about 2 inches longer than the head and won't fit to set the cam timing with the B16 gears, you need to line up the mark on the left side of the intake cam gear with the top of the head - on the exhaust cam gear, you need to line up the tooth immediately above the mark on the right side of the gear with the top of the head

Only show this user. since you are getting the complete swap with the ZC transmission, make sure you get the OBD0 DOHC ZC for the 88-91 CRX/Civic and make sure that it comes with the ZC intermediate axle shaft - the ZC transmission uses the intermediate shaft and larger equal length axles than the other 88-91 CRX ...

    Only DOHC ZC or DOHC D16 (a1/8/9) will work (unless you have an adaptor plate). JG engine Dynamics makes them. If you whant to use SOHC intake manifolds get the adaptor plate from ZCSPEED, that way D16z6, D16y8, Skunk2, etc, manifolds can be used. Throttle body: Use any you would use for D-series engine. B-series fit to. Engine Block: Different!

    the intermediate axle shaft for the DOHC ZC with ZC transmission is not the same as a D16A1 - different bolt pattern where it bolts to the block - you can take the 86-89 Integra intermediate shaft and swap the bearing support/mounting bracket from the 88-91 Civic 4WD wagon (manual transmission) onto it - you can get the bracket from Honda - go here:

So maybe it is an Auto ZC intermediate shaft instead of one for a manual. Or maybe it is an intermediate shaft off of an 86-89 integra; I think they are ...

    the ZC transmission uses an intermediate shaft and larger axles like the Integra - the ZC has closer ratio gears with the individual gears 2 thru 5 being shorter than the Si gears 2 thru 5 - the Si has a shorter final drive than the ZC - when you combine the individual gears with the final drive, the Si ends up being shorter in gears 1 thru 3 and the ZC is shorter in gears 4 and 5
